The Year Rite

Whattup Farmhands,  I love being a missionary. Also, it's very very hard sometimes. But I love it. It's a little like "today, I feel closer to God than I have ever been, I'm working miracles and working hard with my best friend, I'm an unstoppable machine" and then the next day is "I am worse than the dust of the earth, I need to repent, I haven't accomplished anything, I'm exhausted". And it just trades like that.  I haven't written any notes in two weeks so this one is gonna be from memory, and it's probably also gonna be short because we're gonna have a  Emergency Transfer No I didn't kill another son lol. Actually, like I said above, Elder Wilson is fantastic and we're almost like the same person. It's pretty sick. But one of the other Elders in our house has been sick for like... ever since he got here, and now he's going home today and we're gonna end up a with Elder Barata in a trio. Lo key a relief and ...

Whattup Ghosts of Christmas Present, It's Christmas! And that's basically gonna be the whole email this week because I wrote absolutely nothing this week and like, it's Christmas. We had a super cool Christmas zone conference, we ate some amazing meals with members, and we worked hard. Go watch The Christ Child.  Love you all and merry Christmas!  God is Good,  Elder  Ebbert

I just tell him stuff and he soaks it up and does it. It's quite nice.  I haven't managed to kill this one yet, but that doesn't mean I'm not doing my best. I came to the conclusion that since my last approach to training (extremely relaxed and permissive to try and help them transition well) left my companion depressed and going home, it's significantly better to take the Aurelius approach this time around. For those lost souls who haven't read Cradle, the Aurelius method involves: 1: always smiling 2: always acting like you know what you're doing 3: make your student suffer and bring them to the very limit of their abilities as much as possible And... it's working amazingly. Second day here and I've already got this kid leading the area, third day and h...
