THE GREAT TIE TROCAR

This week, I ate a double dogged brazlian hot dog, and it was pretty much the best experience of my life. For those unaware, the brazilian hot dog (or at least the one I had) has mashed potatoes, lettuce, the dogs, and a packet of mayo, ketchup, and mustard slathered on. Of course, for two dogs, I had to use twice as much of every other ingredient. I'm pretty sure that meal catalysed a reaction in my body which created a new kind of neurochemical.

Anyways, I also accidentally started a mosh pit at the Missionary Training Center. And by mosh pit, I mean tie trading frenzy. I had heard about trading ties but I went out into the halls with a bunch of ties and went around saying "trocar" (portuguese for to trade) and literally the entire hall flooded out and was stuffed with people negotiating tie trades in english, spanish, and portuguese. It was epic.

I know everybody was looking forward to my spiritual thought/pop culture conection this week but I honestly don't really have one specifically. I've mostly just been reading the Book of Mormon and I just started Alma which is one of my favorites and IM SO EXCITED TO GET TO HELEMAN AND THE WAR CHAPTERS my sister shared some awesome insights with me about the war chapters and I'm excited to read them again. So ig the spiritual thought this week is that the Book of Mormon is dope and the true word of God.

We didn't have a teacher for one of our classes so we staged some photos of me teaching the class portuguese to send to our teachers. I thought they were pretty good but they sent us to another class anyways :|

I love the Temple! And the Endowment! I don't really have anything else to say about that but I felt like putting it in there.

Whattup Fellowsaints, This week was awesome. I almost entirely recovered from my bout of sicknesses, and we started to see miracles at literally every turn. That's... basically it. The After-Sacrament Meeting We have this one guy who literally has been in the chapel 12 times but he hasn't been baptized yet. Why? Well, his wife is on the verge of bringing forth a child, his nephew is possessed by the devil, and also he doesn't live in our area of teaching. Not  literally  possessed by the devil by the way, though considering my experience thus far in Brasil I wouldn't put it past him. No, he just does really dumb stuff like beat and steal from his mom, which gives our friend a headache and lo-key makes him want to kill the nephew- which is lo-key fair. Whattup Spirit Junkies,  As I sit at my slightly cluttered but mostly organized desk covered in books of scripture and laser-engraved knives, tastefully decorated with a singular potted plant, I sip my coke zero out of a plastic cup and eat air-fried chicken nuggets out of a plastic bowl and realize...  That's it. Two tuesdays ago, we had lunch with our favorite recent con Ana, and she invited her aunt to come and eat lunch with us. We took the opportunity to teach her some cool stuff and she also asked us to give her a blessing, which was very spiritual. Then we went back, did weekly planning, and then got caught up in a meeting with our bishop where he printed off like 400 names of people for us to visit. A little Loki for ya So this week's email is probably gonna be talking mostly about The Work.
