Snake Eater

Whattup Sons of Liberty,

I was reading Alma 9-13 a couple weeks ago and I got to Alma 10:27 and I have a note there that just says "America" lol

But anyways, I owe my mom apologies because I said I would send an email last week... 

Look folks I love to write but I also have no time. And speaking of time... I've officially got one year on the mission! Officially living on a prayer. 

But anyways let's get three weeks in here

Zone conference
So three weeks ago we had zone conference!! Super sick cuz our president thought us what "thrash" and "manfully" means and also the guy in charge of service missions burned everybody who disrespects service missionaries. Also me and Elder Record did a musical number that was supposed to be a southern rendition of "The Spirit of God" (including clapping and stamping of feet) but unfortunately our guitarist made it a lot slower, so it ended up being like soft guitar chill spirit of God. Afterwards I spent like 200 reais on guitar crap, officially going to start a metal band with Elder Record at BYU

Carlinho
Friday I had a division with our LD's comp, Elder Carley. He's super cool. We got rained on for about 4 hours and spend 2 more searching for this one lady in a huge apartment/fortress in the middle of our area. We finally found them and asked if they had interest in coming back to church and they said no.

Also we were walking home and a car started backsliding really really slowly down a hill and bumped into another car it was hilarious. 

Saturday I Bible bashed an investigator, kind of. It was like a soft Bible bash. Bible bashinho. It didn't work cuz she still didn't come to church and also I don't commend Bible bashing

But also I totally won the bash. Not that there's a winner. But if there was, it would have been me. 

Days of Stress
Sacrament meeting that week was super stressful trying to help our investigators. Calmed down after lunch though cuz we ate lunch with the bishopric and especially one of the counselors Levi, he's super cool and we spent the whole time talking about deep doctrine. The he sent us a whole bunch of pdfs with deep doctrine books lol

P day was a beautiful picnic in the secluded woods. Or, being interpreted, bread and salami on top of a hill. But it was pretty sick. Afterwards we went back to the chapel and played cards. 

Thursday
Skipping to Thursday from two weeks ago (?) we found a homeless guy on the road who taught us a lesson about the mark of the beast and how apple is gonna Bluetooth everybody with the mark of the beast, or something like that. 

Then Saturday we marked an epic division with one of our members with like 5 lessons... which all fell through. So we visited one of our members who has cancer with the bishop. 

Sunday we were supposed to go the temple visitor center with the other elders but we couldn't get anyone to go with us. So we sat around waiting for the to get back. We also played Simon Says in English. 

And back to P day from this last week. I went to a glasses store to do an eye exam and my eyes are... slightly worse. But in order to do the exam this quiet, crazy dude took us out of the store and into a basement like two doors over. He was actually super nice and knowledgable but definitely thought I was gonna get murdered in the basement. Also we played cards again lol.

Unfortunately because of the eye exam we missed our missions weekly p day meeting so when we got back the elders lied to us about all sorts of changes in the mission... definitely thought all of our secretaries were going to be sisters for a hot second. Also that we were going to have to give guitar lessons to the members.

Free References
In our district council wednesday we went out into the road to do street contacts so we got like 3 free references from the elders. Also, time to talk about our baptism this week! Her name is Maria Marcia and she... really really likes to talk. Like, really likes to talk mesmo.

So we loykey taught her all the lessons by sending her videos because we cant teach her in person 0_0 but also she loves the church so we chilling. We spent saturday filling up the baptismal font and gossiping with the YSAs. And finally... sunday! We had an epic sacrament meeting and Maria's baptism!! We finished off the week teaching english class and with a family home evening in one of our favorite members houses with brazilian hot dogs.

Also we got transfer news and... nothings happening in our house. Actually Elder Record is our DL now so I can now manipulate our district activities on p day muahahaha

Epilogue
Well at the very least, you know I'm not dead. Unfortunately, effort put into emails and time on the mission have an inverse relationship. The mission is going great as always! Love you all! Hope you have a great week!

Whattup Fellowsaints, This week was awesome. I almost entirely recovered from my bout of sicknesses, and we started to see miracles at literally every turn. That's... basically it. The After-Sacrament Meeting We have this one guy who literally has been in the chapel 12 times but he hasn't been baptized yet. Why? Well, his wife is on the verge of bringing forth a child, his nephew is possessed by the devil, and also he doesn't live in our area of teaching. Not  literally  possessed by the devil by the way, though considering my experience thus far in Brasil I wouldn't put it past him. No, he just does really dumb stuff like beat and steal from his mom, which gives our friend a headache and lo-key makes him want to kill the nephew- which is lo-key fair. Whattup Spirit Junkies,  As I sit at my slightly cluttered but mostly organized desk covered in books of scripture and laser-engraved knives, tastefully decorated with a singular potted plant, I sip my coke zero out of a plastic cup and eat air-fried chicken nuggets out of a plastic bowl and realize...  That's it. I peaked.  Nourish and Strengthen Well anyways, heres what happened in the last two weeks. Two tuesdays ago, we had lunch with our favorite recent con Ana, and she invited her aunt to come and eat lunch with us. We took the opportunity to teach her some cool stuff and she also asked us to give her a blessing, which was very spiritual. Then we went back, did weekly planning, and then got caught up in a meeting with our bishop where he printed off like 400 names of people for us to visit. A little Loki for ya So this week's email is probably gonna be talking mostly about The Work.
