Whattup fools of april,
I had an email all written out to send this morning but then I blacked out and the draft disappeared from my inbox. Weird. Hope nothing weird or quirky happened while I was away.
But anyways, three more weeks of reflecting on the polaric nature of virtues in the bag. Also, very much engaged in the repentance process because of not writing emails. My mom is passive-aggressively scolding me every week for not writing
Writing is hard.
P day heist
So a couple p days ago one of the coolest members in the ward made lunch for us and she has this grandson Chris whose basically home alone all the time so whenever the missionaries are over he freaks out and just wants to play with us. So while we were eating lunch he goes outside and he sets up a huge trip wire system with kite string so that nobody can leave the house, and in order to get out we had to break through it. Then we all went to the chapel and had a ping pong competition. While we were playing we starting hearing some crazy noises from outside the chapel and we ran it and it was four dogs... doing some stuff. It was disgusting. We had to chase away these two dogs with rocks to try and help this one other dog and overall it was just really weird. We finished off the day with some gambling.
Chapel Work
The other elders have a friend named Helen who was gonna get baptized this week so me and Elder Record practiced a special musical number for her baptism. Also we called with one of our investigators and his aunt was in the room screaming at us the whole call how he couldnt fast or pray because he was a bad person it was super awkward. Then Elder Salazar went priesthood mode and totally roasted her it was great.
Wednesday we gave a district council training on revelation. Its kind of spooky how many missionaries like... dont know how revelation works. To be fair I also didnt know and then I found an epic Bruce R. Mcconkie talk about it and was like ohhhhh but I remember my trainer one time was like ok pray and guide us to the house which has a baptism in it and I was like okkkkk i guess and guess what happened? Nothing. I see that with a lot of other missionaries too. So anyways we gave a training that was alright, I bought a toy gun and used it as an example of the importance of revelation in missionary work (imma let yall figure that one out) and Elder Salazar went nuts again it was great. Hope the training was good.
So now I've gotta tell yall about Pedro Nascimento. He actually was the secretary in the Juiz de Fora mission which is where like half of my ctm district went to and he just came home to my current ward and he's SO SICK. He literally just sends us messages like "bora sair hoje elderes" and we be rakin in the lcms. Also he just decided he was our ward mission leader and its going great.
Anotha one
Saturday we taught some great lessons on covenants and invited everybody to church. Nobody came loll but we did have Helen's baptism which was great! Super spiritual, she cried a lot. Afterwards we had lunch in bishops house, english class, ward council, and that was it. Also I talked with one of the young men in the ward about always third wheeling in your friend group lol. Shout out to my brotha Guilherme
Sick week
So basically nothing happened in the next week cuz Elder Record got dengue. L.
We did find this awesome lady named Marleide though, she tried out a bunch of churches but never liked any of them because she "didn't find Jesus there" and so we were like "BOY have we got a message for you" and at the end she was like "you know what Elders... I believe everything you said and while you were talking to me, I felt like Jesus was here in the room with us." I'm not making that up. Unfortunately she has not been to church because Satan is smart but this week we gonna bash satan in the mouth and get this lady to church.
'sick week'
so p day this last week we bought like 8 pizzas, so you already know it was a good one. We also gave another training cuz the elders who were gonna give it got dengue. We just did like 8 roleplays and I made everybody do silly stuff like only teach through scriptures or testifying.
Also I read more brigham young this week and like WOW I love brigham young. Absolute madlad. His teachings have a direct effect on me more than maybe any other prophet except like, President Nelson. And Joseph Smith. And Jesus Christ. They're all up there in the prophetic power pool competition. Not that it's a competition all prophets are cool. But not as cool as Brigham Young.
Also we had zone conference which was great. I played piano for another musical number and me and Elder Salazar pulled a little safadeza during lunch >:) We also found like half the mission at this açaí place afterwards.
At night we had a ward activity and I got roped into two special easter numbers by our bishop. I also got a special little easter present from Helen and her friend which was cool. Actually we got a ton of easter candy that day it was great
best day ever
So saturday we went to the temple to do endowments!!! President let us go with one of the members in our ward. It was so funny, on the way there this beggar got onto the subway but we was holding this speaker and he would go up to everybody on the bus and freestyle about them and then transition into asking for money it was crazy. Lokey fire too. He rapped about us being pastors lol
When we got to the mall we went and got lunch with the first councilor in the bishopbric, Levi. He's hilarious. Afterwards we did the endowment and I just wanna say again that I love the temple. It's just... peace. And joy. Gosh I love being a missionary but not being able to go to the temple makes me mad.
After the temple we went to sams club until we remembered that you have to be a member to buy stuff - so we just left it all at check out. lol. Pedro went to the mall with us again and we watched him eat KFC. On the way home Pedro tried to set me up with one of the sisters who went home with him it was hilarious, and we tried to set him up with a bunch of people too this man needs casamento.
Easterzinho
Easter morning showed up early to the chapel to practice the numbers, I got to carry around this little folder with my music in it and I was in a cool sweater, brought me back to my keyslinging jazz days.
Saudades.
Sacrament meeting was sick and some people actually showed up! Then we had lunch with one of our favorite members, Vildete, and she made these AMAZING cheese potato things it was sooooo good. I love cheese. Afterwards we went home and did weekly planning cuz... easter. Nobody wants to get street contacted on easter. Also, everybody's drunk on easter.
One more time
Well, it's been a good couple of weeks. Plenty of pizza and lots of trying to find anybody interested in our message. But we're going strong. Also, the temple was amazing I love the temple.
So, I wish you all farewell until the next one!
God is Good,
