....But Nobody Came
Whattup Underdwellers,
There's... not much to report this week. In terms of both crazy stories and also in terms of our area kkk. As the timeless adage says, it takes 6 firm commitments to put a zero in the area book reports.
Like... I figured out how to play the Halo theme on my guitar? That was cool.
Master Chef
The only other really interesting thing that happened this week is that I have become the absolute master of making pasta and noodles. My top 3 recipes are peanut butter yakisoba, mac and requeijão, and pepper jelly yakisoba. Yakisoba is on that list twice because there's this 4 minute package thing in the supermarket we have which is super easy to make. Also, jello is really tasty. I made this jello today using a green apple energy drink (sorry mom) instead of water, so we'll see if that works because I don't know if you can use a carbonated soda to make jello? Will report next week on the success of the experiment.
Return of the Nerds
Technically this happened last P-day but whatever. We played D&D with the YSAs in our ward last week! And we're playing again today. It was super dope.
Completionist Run
We are sequencing breaking and shinesparking our way to the very end of the email because literally nothing else to talk about. Great lessons this week because even after an amazing week like last week we can have a nothing week like this one, and so I've been trying to learn how to feel like I'm doing well even without seeing any direct results from the work that I'm doing. It's quite interesting. A Cradle quote comes to mind:
“Fate is not fair, but it is just. Hard work is never in vain… even when it does not achieve what you wished.”
So even though I'm doing my best, it's not having the results I would like it to have (people in Sacrament meetings, baptisms, etc). However, it is still having positive results (strengthened faith, conversion, learning, etc) and that's basically true of all things in life. Christ loves and ask for our hearts and our efforts, and the promise of his Grace is that those things will be enough to transform us with time and patience.
Unrelated to anything I just said, the invitation of the week is a listen to the BYU speech "The Seven Deadly Heresies". It's really good.
Until next time
Apologies for the relatively low effort email, but there was not much to talk about and unfortunately I wasn't able to enter my writers trance once more. I hope you all have a wonderful week!
God is Good,
