Hit Em With Those ZL Tactics

Whattup 9 Year Olds,
This week we have resorted to the classic missionary tactic: baptizing kids.

It's ok though her mom is a member who's like kinda inactive but really wants to be more active and their whole family has a goal to get sealed in the temple it's actually super sweet. Literally love this family so much and gonna talk about them later but for right now let's talk about last week cuz

Shadows Die Twice
I know I've been sick before on my mission but not like, cannot eat or drink anything for two days sick. That was a first last week. So basically we lost the whole week to sickness :( but we still had a bunch of people come to church miraculously so that was a great blessing.

That whole first day of sickness was probably one of the most painful days of my life, but it was also weirdly one of the best days of my mission. It's like passing through that pain gave the Lord a million little facets to show me his love, and there were so many tender experiences that I'm just blown away. Pretty cool.

Anyways the coolest thing that happened last week is that our friend Rosinaria brought her husband and son to church! Rosinaria is really liking the restored gospel after a long time being confused by the Jehovas Witness Bible. Unfortunately their son had a fever this week so she couldn't make it to church again but should work out this week.

Mortal Edge
Last P day I bought 4 knives.

They have laser-etched Cradle designs on them.

Also I held a katana.

Holy Ground
Last week we got to go to the temple twice!! It was very nice. One time we went with our friend Ana Claudia who got baptized recently, it was so epic. Also I bought a Japanese book of Mormon cuz it was 2 reais and I thought why not.

We also got some fresh cuts right before transfers were announced and... I stayed in Ranieri! But my other two companions left. Guess I'm just never gonna finish anybody's training. Low key very happy though because I'm actually starting to love this area and we've got some super cool people here.

On Thursday we went to the temple again with Heloisa and took about 1000 photos! Heloisa is our little friend who got baptized yesterday. Her and her mom are so cool and it was fun to go through the visitor's center with them and hear their testimonies and the sister's testimonies.

One Transfer Closer
Friday was transfers day and get this: Jussara and Heloisa are so cool that they drove us and our luggage all the way to the mission office and back. Very nice.

I picked up my new companion Elder Salazar and our new house comps, Elder Record and Pithan. I don't have much to say except that everybody in our house is super awesome, being a missionary is so much easier when your companion is cool and your house doesn't have weird issues. Also Elder Record is a huge music geek and so we be cookin for zone conference

Also Friday night we had a lesson with this crazy lady who was talking the whole time about how she always wanted to marry and American and how she pulled a machete on her next door neighbors. Then we asked her to say the closing prayer and she bowed her head and didn't say anything. So we sat there for literally almost 20 minutes waiting for her to finish the silent prayer. Finally we interrupted her and made it out lol. She's super crazy but she came to church this week so... we take those.

Saturday we had an epic lesson with Sara and a member Nicolle about most of the plan of salvation. Sara is so smart we literally just ask her questions and then she teaches herself the lessons, literally she knows more about Adam and Eve than 70% of temple-going members, which is kinda sad actually. Also I always just love talking about the atonement. After the lesson we debated with Nicolle for like an hour about hymns and Utah missions, lo key fubecagen but anyways

Rebirth
Sunday we had not quite as many people in church because everybody was freaking sick or being a safado. Some Alma 5 is gonna be read this week >:)

But anyways we got called in to help with primary instead of going to Sunday school with the adults and it was actually way better hahaha. We had an epic lesson about Nephi with all the 9 year olds. It was actually so sweet cuz one of the kids went up during fast and testimony meeting afterward and said that "we need to be obedient like Nephi" and I was like "3 Nephi 26:14 moment". For lunch we ate the BEST FEJOIADA I'VE EVER HAD it was seriously like 90% meat it made me so happy. In the afternoon we had Heloisa's baptism which was so fun. I got to play some hymns and we ended off the baptism with "Families can be forever", sneaky little foreshadowing to reactivate the dad.

Also a drunk guy spilled a full cup of beer on us while we were waiting at a bus stop. That was awesome.

Spiritual Thought
Spiritual thought this week comes from the Pearl of Great Price. It's the following:

Cain is the reason anime exists.

Welp. Awesome week this week. Only a couple more until I officially hit the missionary hill and become old. I dread that.

But anyways, I love the Book of Mormon! Love you all too! Hope you all have excellent weeks!

God is Good,
